It's a Scramble Blog Hop

Some parts of the world are experiencing cold weather and some are experiencing warm weather. Kinda scrambled, wouldn't you say?! The Love To Scrap! Challenge Blog is excited to bring you our "It's A Scramble" Blog Hop! We're being sponsored by the awesome River City Rubber Works! Come hop with us for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to their online store!

As you hop, collect letters at each stop and be sure to leave each designer some love. Once you have collected all the letters, unscramble them and email your guess to ltscb@mail.com - then all the correct guesses will be entered into the drawing for the River City Rubber Works gift certificate!

All of the LTSCB designers are creating Anything Goes inspiration projects. Everyone participating in the blog hop is invited to link up an Anything Goes project for an EXTRA entry into the drawing! **Be sure to use the same email address to email your guess and to link up your project so we can make sure you're given two entries into the drawing!**

Please note that even though this is an Anything Goes challenge, our normal rules apply. :)

Here is my card using "Direct the Wind" by River City Rubber Works:

Rustic Christmas

I've been wanting to play along with Verve's Rustic Winter challenge and I've had this card idea in mind for a week or so and it turned out pretty much how I thought it would, which isn't always the case. : )
It's hard to see in the photo, but I created a plank look with my scorpal and then swiped some white and tan inks on to give it a rustic look.  The finishing touch, which unfortunately doesn't show up well are the little "nails" I added to each side of the horizontal plank joins.  So cute in real life!  I used glue and red flock to create the "berries".
I was inspired by this card made by Amy Kolling, who is on the Verve DT:
Diva Hop

Give thanks

It's time for another What If? Wednesday Challenge from The House That Stamps Built.  This week we have a sketch for you.  I love a good sketch, it's such a great starting point for a card.  And this one is a good one; so fun!
Here is my card:
The banners in the sketch reminded me of ribbon and I had a couple pieces sitting in my "bits and pieces" stash that were perfect fall colors: yellow and dark brown (every piece used on this card was a scrap; I just cut some of them into smaller pieces).  But then I was faced with the dilemma of where to go from there?  Those ribbons would be lost against any patterned paper and most card stock.  Then I remembered that I had this mini chicken wire die and thought paired with the ribbons that it would add to the autumn look.  I hope you'll join in this week and play along; I can't wait to see your take on this sketch.
Right now, Repeat Impressions is having a sale; you don't want to miss it.

Noel Gift Bag

It's my turn to show a Project of the Week over on The House That Stamps Built blog and I'm going to show you how to decorate a plain gift bag.  We held my twins' birthday party this weekend and their uncle gave them gifts in these cute little plain kraft bags.  I snagged one as it was perfect for my project.  Here are the supplies you'll need to create your own:
-Gift bag (whatever size you want)
-card stock and coordinating papers
-dies and white card stock for your focal panel
-stamps (I used Repeat Impressions' "Noel", "Pointsettia" "Hello" and "Thanks" I am also showing "Christmas" but didn't end up using it."

I started by creating my paper layers.  I NEVER measure, so I thought I show you how I make my cuts.  I lay my piece of card stock on top of my gift bag and make sure I have the border I wanted showing around the outside.
Then I use a pencil to make a mark on the two sides that need to be cut.  You can see my pencil line just above the bottom of the gift bag.  Then I use my paper trimmer to cut along those two lines.  It leaves you with the perfect size paper and no measuring needed!
I did the same thing with my patterned paper: lay it on the already cut piece of card stock and mark where I want to cut with a pencil.
After all my layers were cut and adhered together, I moved on to stamping.  I die cut my label,  stamped "Noel" and colored in the poinsettia.
I also cut a small label to use for my tag, stamped "Poinsettia" and colored it in.  I added gold paint pen to the center to make it pop.
On the back, I stamped the 'for' from "Thanks" and 'you' from "Hello".
And here is my gift bag all assembled.  I used pop dots to pop up my sentiment panel and tied on my tag with a scrap piece of ribbon and some twine.
I hop I've inspired you to create your own gift bags.  Thanks for checking out my Project of the Week.

Warm Hello

It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built.  This week we have a beautiful inspiration photo for you:
Isn't it gorgeous?!  Here's how I interpreted it:
If you hopped along with our Blog Hop last weekend, you'll recognize that I am using one of the newest released stamp sets from Repeat Impressions.  I heat embossed the "thanks" before inking up the scene and adding the smaller sentiment.  The bold font made a perfect stand in for the silhouetted reeds in the photo.  It was totally unplanned, but the "a warm" part of the sentiment is perfect for the warmth of the colors I used.  Head on over to The House blog to see the full details and how the rest of the DT used this photo.  I can't wait to see how you are inspired by this photo.

Holy Night

Well, here it is mid-November and I'm here with my mid-month inspiration for Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra.  You can enter any project as long as it is Christmas related and you still have two weeks to play along.  Here is my card:
I love this gorgeous poinsettia frame and had it all colored up before I really thought about what I was going to do with the rest of the card.  Kind of one of those "now what do I do" moments.  I fussy cut around the whole image and still wasn't sure what I was going to do for the background.  But then I thought about heat embossing with gold powder to match the gold on the flowers and ribbon, and I really like how it turned out with this music background.  Added a bit of red ribbon and colored some white pearls with my gold paint pen and voila! it's done!  I hope you will play along with us this month.  It's only a couple weeks until Christmas now!

Welcome to The House That Stamps Built blog hop!  Today we are showcasing the newest stamp sets released by Repeat Impressions.  There are four sentiment sets that feature a large word coupled with a multitude (somewhere around 15) of smaller sized companion words.  You can check out the entire stamp set here (unmounted rubber) or here (cling).  There are so many fabulous combinations.
My next card uses the "Happy" set.  I've paired the "happy" with "holidays" for a fun Christmas card.

So sweet

I made some very quick (and rather cute, I'd say) "thank you" cards for my twins' birthday that's coming up next week.  They were so quick and fun that I will probably be making some more in a similar layout with different patterned paper.  I have TONS of paper that I never use because it just doesn't really go with anything else, but it will be perfect by itself.  And 4 cards use up most of a 12x12 in sheet.  Win, win in my book. : )
Here is a close up of one of the cards by itself:
And here is the group of 4; cute, huh?
 And here is the inside:

Undersea birthday

Yesterday, I posted a birthday card for one of my soon-to-be 7 year-olds.  Today, I have the card for the second one.  I used the same paper pack on both cards, so they sort of tie together, though both are completely different other than that, because, well, the girls are completely different.
I colored up the mermaid with a on ombre look on her tail, darker at the end and lightening up into the torso.  Then I added glitter pen to the fins.  I added Glossy Accents to the balloons to give them shine.

Comfort

Time for another What If Wednesday? challenge from The House That Stamps Built.  This week we have a color combo for you:
Here's my take:
I went a bit more literal with the gold part; I used gold embossing powder on my gorgeous butterflies.  Then I used a couple different blue and green markers to color in the spots.  I used some yummy polka dotted ribbon that I've had in my stash forever.  I picked some of the marker colors just so I could use it. : )  Head on over to The House blog and see how the rest of the DT has used this color combo.  Then get inky, there's a $25 gift certificate up for grabs this month.  The more you play, the more chances you have to win it.

Challenges:
The Paper Girls #91--use stamps (no digis this time)
